Who Is Spiderman?
Peter Parker was orphaned as a baby as a result of his parents were killed in a plane crash on a US Government spies mission. He was raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Early on the gifted Peter demonstrated an uncanny love for science. Socially he was shy and was a target for a lot of cruelty by his high school peers at Midtown High School. While attending a science exhibit when he was 15-years old, he was bitten on the hand by a radioactive spider. This empowered Peter with the strength, agility, and the ability to cling to almost any surface.
It was amazing that he gained a sixth sense that provided him with an early warning of impending danger. Peter disguised himself so he could test his new discovered abilities. He took on the professional wrestler Crusher Hogan and defeated him in the ring which earned him some cash. Using his background in science he build a pair of web-shooters that attached to both his wists. With a special costume and a new name Spiderman became a hero overnight on television while helping those in trouble. Not really concerned with the problems of the rest of the world, he decided to use his special powers to care for himself and his elderly uncle and aunt. After the end of his first TV Special he decided to let a burglar run past him instead of restraining him using his power. Peter returned home a few days later to find his Uncle Ben shot and killed. When Spiderman found his uncle’s killer in the old Acme Warehouse on the waterfront, he discovered that his uncle’s killer was the buglar that he let pass by the previous night. While being consumed with guilt, he became aware that with such power comes great responsibility, just as his beloved uncle conveyed to him.
